Peg solitaire
Jump a peg over its neighbour into an empty hole to remove it. Keep going until only one peg is left.
How to play Peg solitaire
How to play
Tap a peg, then tap the empty hole two spaces away to jump. The peg you jump over is removed. You can also drag a peg onto the hole. Jumps go straight up, down, left or right, never diagonally.
How to win
Finish with a single peg. On the classic board, the perfect finish is one peg in the centre hole.
Tips
Avoid leaving pegs stranded on their own in a corner arm. Clear the arms of the cross early and work back towards the middle.
Puzzles and daily
Short and long puzzles start with fewer pegs and are always solvable. The daily long puzzle is the same for everyone.
Questions
Is every peg solitaire puzzle here solvable?
Yes. Short, long and daily puzzles are created by playing backwards from a single peg, so a solution always exists. The classic English board is solvable too.
What does the hint do?
It searches for a move that still leads to a one-peg finish from your current position and highlights it. If you have already lost the way, it tells you to undo.
Can I jump diagonally?
No. On the English board, pegs jump straight up, down, left or right over one neighbour into an empty hole.
How many pegs does the classic board have?
The English cross board has 33 holes. You start with 32 pegs and the centre hole empty.
