Tents
Pitch one tent next to each tree. Tents never touch, not even diagonally, and the numbers say how many tents go in each row and column.
How to play Tents
How to play
Every tree needs exactly one tent of its own, on a spot directly above, below, left or right of it. Tents never touch each other, not even at the corners. The numbers beside the rows and columns tell you how many tents each one holds.
Controls
Tap a spot once to mark it as grass, twice for a tent, and a third time to clear it. Drag across spots to paint grass quickly. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys and Space, or press T for a tent and G for grass.
Tips
Start with the zeros and with spots that aren't next to any tree: they are all grass. Then look for trees with only one free neighbour, and for rows where the open spots exactly match the number of tents still needed.
Puzzles and daily
Every puzzle has exactly one solution and can be solved by reasoning alone, without guessing. The 6×6 puzzles are gentle, the 12×12 ones need a few careful what-ifs. The daily 8×8 puzzle is the same for everyone.
Questions
What are the rules of the tents puzzle?
Place one tent next to each tree, horizontally or vertically. Tents may not touch each other, not even diagonally, and each row and column must contain exactly the number of tents shown beside it.
Can a tent be next to two trees?
Yes, but it only belongs to one of them. Every tree needs its own tent, so the number of tents always equals the number of trees.
Do I need to guess?
No. Every puzzle here is checked by a solver to have exactly one solution that can be reached step by step. The hint shows the next logical step and explains why it works.
What does marking grass do?
Grass marks are notes for yourself: spots where you know no tent can go. They make the remaining choices easier to see. With the fill option on, finished rows and columns fill with grass automatically.
